Freelance Web Developer – Shopify

This role involves transforming an existing USA-based Shopify website into a South African version, ensuring all products, content, and branding are accurately adapted for the new market. The successful candidate will be responsible for replicating the structure and offerings of the current UK and US sites, tailoring them to suit South African customers while maintaining brand consistency. The project is remote and requires efficient turnaround within a short timeframe.

• Duplicate and migrate all products, images, and content from the UK Shopify website to the new South African site.
• Update product descriptions, pricing, and currency to reflect the South African market.
• Ensure all branding, design elements, and site navigation are consistent with the existing UK and US websites.
• Configure payment gateways, shipping options, and tax settings appropriate for South Africa.
• Test the new website for functionality, responsiveness, and user experience across devices.
• Provide documentation or a handover guide for ongoing site management.

• Proven experience developing and customizing Shopify websites, with a portfolio of similar localization projects.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, especially for international markets.
• Proficiency in Shopify’s admin interface, Liquid templating, and relevant third-party apps.
• Ability to adapt content and product data for a new regional audience, including currency and language adjustments.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand consistency.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines.
• Availability to start immediately and complete the project within a few days.
• Remote work capability; candidates based in any location are welcome.
