Job Posting:Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Support Specialist
Location: Primarily Remote (Up to four times per year onsite in downtown Toronto, ON)
Employment Type: 1 year full time contract, with possible extension.
Reports To: Manager, IT Services and Operations
Unit: Finance/IT
Position Purpose
Our client is seeking a Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Support Specialist to support the IT SharePoint Specialist by providing IT Level 2 Support in response to the majority of Microsoft support requests that arise from business users.
Primary Responsibilities
IT Level 2 Support (60%)
Respond to assigned tickets involving SharePoint, One Drive, Teams or other Microsoft applications:
Permissions and external sharing;
Search issues;
Broken links, displays and bugs within platforms;
Restoring deleted files, sites, groups;
Changes or customizations to existing sites/libraries;
Adding and maintaining documentation in the Knowledge Base about issues;
Reviewing and updating Resource and Guidance Centre documentation for end users to ensure accuracy and currency.
Work with business users to determine requirements for sites, libraries and permissions;
Set up new Teams Groups according to procedures;
Create, change, update SharePoint sites and permissions;
Migrate content from sites, One Drive or other locations;
Review message centre updates and prepare for application changes;
Liaise with Records Management staff for Information Management connections into IA.
Education:
Post-secondary diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field.
3 years of technical experience supporting SharePoint Online and various Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., One Drive, Teams, Microsoft Azure Services and Databases).
Experience working with SharePoint managed metadata and term store;
Technical aptitude with the capacity to quickly learn new systems and solve complex technical problems with creativity and efficiency;
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to gather requirements from non-technical staff;
Ability to perform analysis and research of various technologies independently;
Excellent customer service skills, building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders with varying technical knowledge;
Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines;
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience using Power Shell and/or automated scripts;
Experience building and maintaining Microsoft Flows and Microsoft Power Apps;
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Dynamics NAV;
Knowledge of Digital Records Management in SharePoint.
Flexible remote work arrangement;
Availability to work onsite in Toronto, Ontario up to four times per year or more;
Extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and viewing a screen;
Occasional overtime may be required.
