What You'll Be DoingYou’ll join our Data and Reporting team reporting into the Director, Data Governance. As a Consultant, Data Governance & Management, you will support the evolution and execution of Commercial Banking & Wealth Management’s (CBWM) Data Governance program. Your focus will be on contributing to the development of the Data Governance program, documenting CBWM implementation, preparing materials for the Data Governance Council, and supporting data governance stakeholders—with a direct impact on the governance, quality, and automation of data within CBWM.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on‑site, while other days will be remote. HowYou’ll Succeed
- Support the evolution of CIBC Data Governance - Understand, review, and document feedback on the evolving enterprise Data Governance program, its operationalization, and its integration with data quality and automation initiatives.
- Support, document, and automate CBWM Data Governance program materials - Document and maintain materials supporting the CBWM data governance implementation including business process flows, business term glossaries, data dictionaries, procedure documents, Data Sharing Agreements (DSA), Data Sharing Risk Assessments (DSRA), stakeholder educational/instructional materials, materials supporting data governance execution, and tracking of data governance issues. Leverage automation tools to streamline documentation, reporting, and issue management processes for increased efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop dashboards and metrics for data governance - Support the definition, development, and ongoing measurement of quality metrics, ensuring compliance with data‑related policies and standards. Design, build, and maintain dashboards to visualize key data governance and quality metrics, enabling stakeholders to monitor performance, identify trends, and take informed action.
- Prepare CBWM Data Governance Council materials - Maintain and document KPIs and data‑related issues for presentation to stakeholders. Prepare automated reports and dashboards for the Data Governance Council, and follow up on next steps/actions as required to support operational excellence.
- Relationship Management - Serve as a liaison between technology, business, and functional areas to ensure that data governance program requirements—including those related to data quality, automation, dashboards, and metrics—are clearly defined, communicated, well understood, and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
- You demonstrate experience in supporting data governance including business term definition and CDE identification, data classification and/or data catalogue management, documenting and designing processes related to business lineage & traceability, governance/quality metrics development & reporting, measuring/monitoring data quality, workflow and issue management, data stewardship management (roles and responsibilities), policy management, and data sharing. Experience with automation tools and dashboard development is an asset.
- You have a strong background in developing, tracking, and reporting on key metrics and KPIs related to data governance and quality. Experience with automation and dashboard tools (such as Tableau, Power BI, or Alteryx) is highly valued.
