Due to continued growth at DXC we are seeking a pure‑play, hands on Senior Proposal Writer specialising in Central Government tenders. You do not need deep knowledge of each DXC IT service line, but you must excel at turning SME content into clear, compelling, evaluator friendly written responses for complex government bids.
Your writing will directly influence bid scoring and win probability across major UK Government departments.
Due to customer requirements successful candidates must be UK Nationals and eligible for Security Clearance
Key Responsibilities 1. High‑quality bid writingCraft compelling, compliant responses to ITT / RFP / RFI / SQ for Central Government.
Convert SME technical/operational input into narrative that is clear, concise and benefits‑driven
.Write Executive Summaries, delivery approaches, operating models, transition plans, risk management sections, method statements, and assurance responses.
Analyse the bidder pack and ensure every requirement is fully addressed
.Build structured answer plans and ensure the response meets public sector evaluation standards.
Maintain tone, clarity, and consistency across all written sections.
Run focused interviews and content capture sessions with SMEs.
Challenge, shape, and simplify complex information to improve readability and evaluate‑ability.
Work collaboratively with solution leads, commercial, security, and delivery.
Use proven bid methodologies (e.g., APMP-style storyboarding).
Create strong value propositions
, themes, differentiators, and evidence‑led messaging.Ensure all responses are benefit‑oriented and aligned to Government priorities.
Produce publication‑ready content with excellent structure, readability, and technical accuracy.
Conduct self‑review, peer review, and final polishing before submission.
Strong track record writing successful Central Government proposals (e.g., Cabinet Office, Home Office, MoJ, DWP, DHSC, Defence, HMRC).
Demonstrable experience producing complex, evaluator‑scored written responses.
Ability to synthesise technical IT, digital, cloud, service management, and transformation content.
High proficiency in structuring, compliance mapping, and bid‑writing best practice.
Comfortable working at pace across multiple bids in flight.
APMP Foundation/Practitioner or equivalent experience.
Experience with frameworks (G‑Cloud, DOS, NHS, etc.).
Understanding of Government security requirements and assurance models.
Strong content re‑use discipline and experience maintaining knowledge repositories.
Exceptional written English (clarity, flow, logic, persuasion).
Sharp editorial judgement and “bid writer instincts”.
High attention to detail; disciplined version control.
Ability to quickly absorb SME input and improve it.
Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
Delivers high‑quality answers requiring minimal rework.
Establishes trusted relationships with SMEs and bid leads.
Improves response quality, narrative consistency, and compliance rigour.
Contributes to strengthening our bid library and reusable patterns.
