• Skilled in a range of AWS services and keen to keep up to date with releases
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code, e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation or CDK
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible
• Understanding of networking and how that translates to software‑defined networking in the cloud
• Experience in container orchestration systems, e.g., Kubernetes, ECS or Open Shift
• Proficiency in scripting in at least one language (Python, Bash, Go)
• AWS certifications desired but not essential; training and certification opportunities available

• Designing and building cloud‑native architectures
• Using Terraform or CDK to deploy resources
• Infrastructure creation, management and design
• Liaising with key stakeholders, internal and external
• Creating exemplar implementation patterns (e.g., a standard Puppet script that creates a single AWS server)
• Managing and controlling the software configuration for projects, including source repositories
• Leveraging AWS security features and ensuring best practices with developers
• Leading teams or individuals for Senior Engineers
