The role

MEC's eCommerce team is growing and due to an internal promotion, we are looking to hire an experienced Sr. Digital Merchandising Manager who will be pivotal to our growth plan. You’ll be reporting into the Director of Digital Merchandising and managing a team; ensuring our customers can find the products and information they need on  using your varied skillset to diagnose pain points and reduce friction in the customer journey.

You have a strong sales mindset and an analytical approach, using data to identify opportunities, streamline processes, and improve the effectiveness of our digital merchandising strategies. You are hands‑on with digital tools, automation, and reporting, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and uncover actionable insights.

You are responsible for merchandising across the customer journey including touchpoints such as the homepage, product listing pages, campaign landing pages, product recommendations, search results and more. As a subject matter expert, you will act as a resource for the team, sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and developing tools that improve workflows and decision‑making. You’ll have a varied role that takes you beyond just the basics and challenges you every day with the customer and our core values at the heart of every decision you make.

Location: This can be a hybrid role based at MEC's Support Office in Vancouver or remote within Canada.

As a Senior Digital Merchandising Manager; you'll:

  • Build and maintain an exceptional experience on MEC’s digital properties
  • Ensure that product discovery and findability is optimized for both search and browse experiences
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure alignment between merchandising strategy, digital merchandising and marketing initiatives
  • Review sales data and ecommerce metrics to identify and prioritize opportunities for optimization and growth
  • Create tools, templates and best‑practices to support the team with reporting and analysis
  • Act as a resource and mentor, helping team members become more data-informed, effective and efficient in their workflows
  • Explore new merchandising practices and techniques, navigating ambiguity, defining project plans, processes and requirements, analyzing impact and collaborating cross‑functionally
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of MEC’s product assortment in assigned categories, understanding how customers discover and choose products within them
  • Work collaboratively across ecommerce and other teams to improve how the digital experience supports the customer’s journey
  • Create and update promotional content including the homepage, campaign landing pages, product listing page, banners and more
  • Support with building the digital journey for loyalty campaigns and the digital co‑op program
  • Optimize on‑site product recommendations to drive product discovery and basket building
  • Support the ecommerce strategy for organic search
