Senior Solutions Architect
Hybrid (Canada) | 6‑Month Rolling Contract | E‑commerce / Grocery Technology

Apex Systems is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to support a leading grocery technology client. This high‑impact, client‑facing role is ideal for someone with strong API integration experience, scripting/automation skills (SQL), and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

Own end‑to‑end solution design for enterprise retail partners

Identify system and business needs, generate solution proposals, and drive execution through to launch

Act as a liaison between internal Product & Engineering teams and external stakeholders

Build and maintain strong relationships with technical and business partners

Serve as a subject matter expert on the client’s platform and external‑facing APIs

Develop tools, documentation, and processes to scale solution delivery

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Architect

Strong experience with API integrations and scripting (SQL)

Proven success in client‑facing or consulting roles

Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences

Experience collaborating with Technical Project Managers

Strong sense of ownership and problem‑solving mindset

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Experience in e‑commerce, SaaS, or startup environments

Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Python, or similar technologies

Experience working with third‑party vendors (e.g., POS systems, loyalty programs)

Work Environment
This is a Flex‑First team. Employees have the flexibility to work from home, an office, or anywhere they do their best work. For GTA‑based candidates, optional in‑office collaboration days are held on Thursdays at 190 Liberty, Toronto.

Pay Rate
$70.00‑$80.00 per hour (CAD)
