Job Summary
Join the Information Technology Department (ITD) at TÉLUQ University as a Senior Software Engineer. You will be part of a specialized team dedicated to developing and evolving the university's digital learning environment (DLE). Information technology is crucial to our teaching mission and pedagogical innovation.
This role involves actively contributing to the redesign of our institutional Moodle-based course platform. Work will adhere to Web Accessibility Standards and the University's new Web development architecture, with a strong focus on technopedagogical innovation. You will thrive in a modern, stimulating technological environment, making a concrete impact on the learning experience for the university community.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities- Perform Front-end web application development, including detailed analysis, programming, unit and integration tests, and proof of concepts, in collaboration with analysts.
- Participate in needs analysis, solution selection, work estimation, implementation, validation, and deployment of solutions.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain the platform's theme, interfaces, interactive components, pedagogical design tools, and editing tools for the digital learning environment.
- Program functionalities in compliance with development standards and best practices.
- Ensure code quality through participation in code reviews.
- Execute maintenance, updates, and upkeep of the digital learning environment.
- Provide user support for internal applications.
- Contribute to writing user guides and procedures for internal clients.
- College diploma in computer science, multimedia integration, or equivalent education.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in Web application development.
- Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- CMS/LMS environments
- PHP programming
- SQL databases
- Moodle and its ecosystem
- Responsive web interface development (Responsive design)
- HTML template integration (Mustache)
- Modern JavaScript and CSS practices
- Automated testing
- Node.js tools
- Version control and continuous deployment (Git, CI/CD)
- Web accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Strong team spirit
- Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to share knowledge
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Capacity to understand existing systems
- Autonomy, resourcefulness, curiosity, and rigor in an evolving environment
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes
Technical tests may be required during the hiring process to assess competency mastery.
Work ModePredominantly remote work, with occasional presence required at the Quebec office.
Position TypeTemporary position due to work overload, with a duration of 2 years.
