• Own design, optimisation, and scaling of high-availability MySQL systems.
• Improve query performance, indexing strategy, and schema design to keep our platform fast and efficient.
• Manage upgrades, migrations, and replication topologies (GTID, multi‑master, geo‑replication) with minimal downtime.
• Monitor, detect, and resolve database performance issues before they impact customers.
• Partner with engineering teams to evolve our database architecture as the platform grows.
• Set best practice, mentor engineers, and uplift database engineering across the organisation.

• Deep MySQL expertise - performance tuning, replication, schema optimisation, and backup/recovery.
• Hands‑on experience with Percona Toolkit, Performance Schema, PMM, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and an understanding of networking basics.
• Experience supporting high‑scale or high‑volume production systems.
• Excellent communication and the ability to collaborate with product, engineering, and platform teams.
