IT Project Manager
(Compliance & Audit Technology)
Experienced IT Project Manager opportunity in the insurance industry. Drive high-impact compliance and risk initiatives using project management best practices. Hybrid role based in Toronto with exposure to enterprise-scale systems and governance frameworks. Strategic position with stakeholder visibility and growth potential.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $75-80 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $90-95 per hour.
• 9-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• In-office presence required from Tuesday to Thursday.
• Remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, track, and manage project budgets, plans, timelines, and scope.
• Manage project resources, including procuring staff, motivating, coaching, and advising team members.
• Collaborate with functional project teams to define business requirements.
• Lead development teams in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
• Define and oversee test plans to ensure products are defect-free prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Facilitate UAT processes and develop rollout plans and procedures.
• Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses to stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to systems development and project management best practices.
• Present updates and recommendations to steering committees or project sponsors.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• PMP or PMI certification required.
• 5–7 years of proven project management experience.
• Strong people management and team-building skills.
• Ability to adapt and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
• Quick learner of business processes and effective collaborator with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong risk assessment and management skills for technology applications and business functions.
• Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in large-scale, multi-platform environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
• Ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.

• Design and implement secure landing zones using AWS Control Tower, AWS Organizations, and Service Control Policies (SCPs).
• Define multi-account security guardrails for shared services, workloads, and sandbox environments.
• Create reference architectures covering security zones, network segmentation, and cross-account communication (Private Link, AWS WAN).
• Lead threat modelling and risk assessments for new workloads and services including Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, and Dynamo
DB.
• Develop security-by-design templates integrated into Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines.
• Partner with compliance teams to maintain continuous alignment with CIS Benchmarks and organizational risk frameworks.
• Implement federated access and single sign-on with AWS IAM Identity Center (AWS SSO), Okta, and Azure AD.
• Manage cross-account roles, STS trust policies, and temporary credentials for developers and third parties.
