Position: TPM Data Lead for CPG industry, FMCG or Retail
Job Location:

Reporting By:  Team of Data Analyst

Experience:

5 - 10 years, with strong experience in CPG industry focused Analytics.

Required Experience & Education :



Experience:

Minimum of 5-10 years in data/analytics roles, with at least 3-5
years specifically in the CPG industry focusing on analytics.



Education:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science,
Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
Core Responsibilities of the Data Lead

• Data Strategy:
Defining and implementing a comprehensive data strategy for
collection, storage, and usage of trade data.

• Performance Tracking:
Defining KPIs to track promotion success.

• Automation:
Reducing manual efforts by automating data ingestion and report
generation.
Data Analytics & Reporting Lead

• Lead the scoping and business requirements for any reporting required for operational
reporting for the markets

• Support the prioritization of scope and requirements from the business

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of the reporting and other technical activities,
overseeing technical and business teams efforts

• Ensure regional data quality, governance, and compliance with global standards.

• Partner repointing of data models and reporting frameworks for market needs.

• Support regional analytics initiatives and provide actionable insights to business
stakeholders.

• Coordinate data-related activities between global and market teams.

• Monitor data integrity and resolve data discrepancies affecting OE reporting.

• Manage dependencies, including with other in-flight/future initiatives such as TPO.

• Facilitate training and enablement on data tools and reporting platforms for market
teams.
Key Requirement
1. Functional & Domain Expertise

• TPM Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of Trade Promotion Management
(TPM) eco-systems, including Sales Planning, Strategic Revenue Management
(SRM), Customer Claims, and Trade Terms.

• CPG & Retail Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of CPG, retail dynamics, and
experience with syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI ).

• ROI & Financial Acumen:
Ability to analyze Trade Promotion ROI, incremental
lift, baseline forecasts, and trade rate percentages to differentiate between
profitable and unprofitable promotion tactics.

• Data Integrity Focus: A commitment to  garbage in, garbage out  prevention,
ensuring high-quality, accurate, and consistent data across all trade initiatives.
2.  Technical Proficiency

• Data Analysis & Visualization:
Expert-level skills in SQL, Python, or R, and
modern BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire.

• Data Management & Governance:
Proficiency in managing data quality
(accuracy, completeness, timeliness) and ensuring data security and
compliance.

• Systems Integration:
Experience integrating data from disparate sources (ERP,
CRM, external syndicated data) into a  single source of truth .

• Advanced Analytics:
Knowledge of predictive and prescriptive modeling to run
what-if  scenarios and optimize promotions.
3.  Leadership & Soft Skills

Strategic Leadership:
Proven track record of leading high-performing data and
analytics teams.

Change Management:
Ability to drive adoption of new digital TPM tools among
sales teams and manage resistance to new, data-driven processes.

• Communication & Storytelling:
Exceptional ability to communicate complex
data concepts to non-technical stakeholders (e.g., Sales Managers, Marketing).

• Influence Without Authority:
Capability to align cross-functional teams (IT,
Sales, Supply Chain) in a matrixed organization.
