We are seeking a skilled System Administrator (Sysadmin) to join our WebOPS Department. If you’re passionate about building reliable infrastructure, optimizing performance, and keeping mission-critical systems secure, this role is for you.
Job OverviewThe System Administrator (Sysadmin) will be responsible for optimizing, maintaining, and securing our shared hosting infrastructure, while ensuring high performance and reliability. This role requires strong Linux expertise, hands-on experience with web hosting stacks, and the ability to implement automation solutions, including AI-driven tools, to streamline operations. The Sysadmin will also provide escalation support, manage virtual and dedicated servers, and collaborate across departments to maintain seamless service delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesOptimize and maintain shared hosting infrastructure for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Research, implement, and manage AI-driven automation solutions to streamline operational tasks.
Provide technical support for escalations to the WebOPS department when required.
Deploy, configure, and manage shared virtual machines (VMs).
Deploy and manage dedicated servers for clients and internal projects.
Ensure smooth operation, uptime, and monitoring of shared infrastructure services.
Assist with escalations and incident response as necessary.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Head of Department (HOD).
Required Qualifications & Skills- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a business‑related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Linux system administration within the web hosting industry.
- Strong knowledge of Debian‑based systems.
- Hands‑on experience with Direct Admin, cPanel, DNS, Exim, and MySQL.
- Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and diagnostics.
- Experience or interest in leveraging automation frameworks and AI tools.
- Knowledge of Proxmox and general virtualization technologies.
- cPanel Certification is an advantage.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with a structured, methodical approach.
- Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset, able to work under pressure.
