As we scale, we’re looking for a Head of Product Domain who can lead product strategy, elevate product talent, and drive delivery excellence across a critical domain within our fintech ecosystem.

This is more than a leadership role — it’s an opportunity to shape product vision, influence architecture, build high-performing Product Owners and Business Analysts who deliver meaningful customer outcomes.

Your Mission

You will lead a portfolio of products within your domain, ensuring strategic alignment, execution excellence, and continuous innovation — while growing and mentoring the product delivery team.

What You’ll Be Accountable For
Strategic Product Leadership
  • Define and drive the product roadmap aligned to Mukuru’s strategic goals.

  • Identify iterative innovations through market insights and technical advancements.

  • Own release planning and portfolio prioritisation to maximise ROI.

  • Ensure scalability, performance, and customer-centric design across solutions.

Build & Lead High-Performing Teams
  • Provide career guidance, mentorship, and line management to Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Release Managers.

  • Conduct performance reviews and develop growth plans.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and agile excellence.

  • Create clarity around priorities, capacity, and velocity.

Agile Delivery & Execution Excellence
  • Lead domain-level backlog ownership and prioritisation.

  • Partner closely with Scrum Masters and Engineering to ensure effective grooming, sprint planning, and execution.

  • Remove impediments and enable delivery momentum.

  • Influence cross-team collaboration across IT and business units.

Business & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Build deep partnerships with business leaders and stakeholders.

  • Translate business needs into scalable product solutions.

  • Validate proposed solutions and guide requirements impact on systems.

  • Collaborate with Architects to define fit-for-purpose technical designs.

What You Bring
  • 6–8+ years leading within a product domain in an Agile/Scrum environment.

  • Proven experience managing Product Owners and/or Business Analysts.

  • Strong understanding of financial services or retail environments.

  • Exposure to payments, card processing, or regulated environments (advantageous).

  • Solid understanding of systems, technical architecture, and product delivery lifecycle.

  • Recognised qualification in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or Information Systems.

  • Strong analytical thinking, negotiation ability, and stakeholder management skills.
