The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your RoleThe ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in payments (including schemes like SEPA, SWIFT, Faster Payments, CHAPS, and card networks), strong analytical capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering complex payment transformation projects. You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring solutions are aligned with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
Your ProfileKey Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
Work closely with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for payment systems and processes. - Convert business needs into clear user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Act as SME across domestic, cross-border, real-time, and card-based payment types.
- Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes (e.g., PSD2, ISO 20022), and emerging technologies in the payments landscape.
- Support and drive end-to-end delivery of payment transformation initiatives, including platform upgrades, system migrations, and new product launches.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and QA teams to ensure accurate execution of requirements.
- Lead and facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, and solution-design sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate progress, risks, and issues effectively to senior leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Develop and maintain high-quality artefacts such as BRDs, FRDs, process maps, and test scenarios.
- Support SIT and UAT phases through test case creation, execution, and defect management.
- Strong understanding of payment schemes, clearing mechanisms, and end-to-end payment processing life cycles.
- Hands‑on experience with ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX, SEPA, FPS, CHAPS, and card networks.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including PSD2, AML, and KYC.
- Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, and other BA/Agile tools.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical/problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI‑PBA, or Agile BA.
- Experience in consulting, banking, or fintech environments.
