This role requires on-site presence at Asda House in Leeds for at least three days per week.
We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a driven and passionate individual looking to transition into the world of Data Architecture. If you come from a background in data engineering, analytics, or solution architecture and are eager to take the next step in your career, this role could be your perfect fit.
You’ll be supported with comprehensive training in cutting-edge technologies including Azure and Databricks to grow into a Data Architect.
Key Responsibilities- Architect and evolve enterprise-wide data models across key domains like Product, Customer, Supply, Finance, and Location
- Apply Kimball dimensional modelling for consumption layer design and Data Vault methodology for raw and business layer integration
- Define and maintain data architecture principles, patterns, and standards
- Collaborate with data platform teams on governance, quality, lineage, and optimisation
- Consult with squads on physical data modelling
- Contribute to metadata and data catalog initiatives to improve discoverability and reuse
- Support our shift to a Data Product Ownership model, enabling domain-aligned teams
- Experience in architecture in a complex organisation
- Expertise in Kimball and Data Vault 2.0 methodologies
- Data modelling, metadata, and governance knowledge
- Ability to define and drive architecture principles, patterns, and best practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Retail industry experience is a bonus but not a deal breaker
