The IT Support Engineer will provide advanced IT support services, ensuring the optimal use of hardware and software technologies, enhancing system performance, and securing data. With over 4 years of experience in IT service support, the engineer will offer tier‑one technical assistance, advise on IT equipment upgrades, and support the organization’s IT infrastructure through problem‑solving and proactive management.

Responsibilities Technical Support & System Maintenance
  • Provide tier‑one technical support to end users via phone, email, or in person.
  • Install, modify, and perform minor repairs on computer hardware and software systems.
  • Monitor hardware, software, and system performance metrics to ensure optimal operation.
  • Update computer software and upgrade hardware and systems as required.
Network Design & Implementation
  • Assist in the design and implementation of networks, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Support Wi‑Fi and LAN connectivity, including configuration and troubleshooting.
User Consultation & Training
  • Consult with users to determine appropriate hardware and software needs and assist in placing orders.
  • Train users on new software, either in person or through various tutorial channels, often in collaboration with the technical team.
System Testing & Compatibility
  • Test the compatibility of new programs with existing systems, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
  • Keep track of technological advancements and trends in IT support to advise on necessary updates and improvements.
System & Asset Management
  • Maintain IT asset inventories, tracking the lifecycle of all IT equipment.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, mailboxes, and IT peripherals such as printers.
  • Arrange and set up conference calls and meeting rooms as needed.
Remote Support
  • Provide remote support to users working from home or in off‑site locations, ensuring they have the necessary tools and connections to work effectively.
Documentation & Process Improvement
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for IT procedures, projects, and processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis, develop checklists for common problems, and recommend procedures and controls for problem prevention.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT service support or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, software systems, and IT service management.
  • Experience in updating software and upgrading hardware and systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues.
  • Knowledge of network design and implementation.
  • ITIL, Network+, MCSA, and CCNA certifications are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and support users at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
