Solutions Architecture and Development Manager

Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent. Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and home, with up to three days a week working from home. Salary circa £55,000 pa plus benefits.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to undertake a new role within our Technology team. As the Solutions Architecture and Development Manager, you will play an integral role in providing strategic and technical leadership for application development and AI-driven solutions across the University.

• Define and maintain solution architecture principles, patterns, and guardrails for enterprise applications, integrations, and data flows.
• Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a coherent technical architecture.
• Lead the adoption of AI and machine learning capabilities.
• Lead the design and implementation of secure and scalable integrations across the University’s application ecosystem.

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Track record of leading development teams and delivering complex application or integration projects.
• Significant experience designing or architecting enterprise software solutions.
• Strong architectural understanding of application design, API standards, secure coding, and integration patterns.
