This role is a senior technical leadership position responsible for building and scaling a high-impact data platform that powers large-scale product, AI, and growth initiatives. You will lead the design and evolution of systems handling massive volumes of behavioral and operational data across millions of users. The platform you own will enable analytics, experimentation, real-time insights, and lifecycle intelligence across multiple teams.
This is a highly strategic role combining hands-on architectural leadership with people management. You will guide a team of engineers while shaping the long-term vision of a modern, scalable, and cost-efficient data ecosystem. The environment is fast-paced, product-driven, and deeply collaborative across engineering, product, and marketing functions.
Accountabilities
You will be responsible for defining, building, and scaling a robust and efficient data platform while leading a team of engineers and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Own the architecture and long-term evolution of the data platform supporting large-scale batch and real-time processing systems
Design and enhance systems for analytics, experimentation, event tracking, and usage metering
Ensure platform reliability, scalability, performance, observability, and data quality standards are consistently met
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data and platform engineers, fostering ownership and technical excellence
Collaborate closely with Product, AI, Growth, and Marketing teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
Drive the platform-as-a-product approach, improving usability, adoption, and developer experience
Optimize infrastructure costs while continuously evaluating and improving tools, systems, and processes
Support AI and machine learning initiatives by enabling reliable data pipelines and training data capabilities
Requirements
This role requires strong technical depth in data systems, proven leadership experience, and the ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels.
7+ years of experience in software or data engineering, including at least 2+ years in an engineering management role
Strong experience designing and scaling data platforms or distributed systems at production scale
Hands-on expertise with data processing frameworks such as Spark and streaming or pipeline systems
Proficiency in backend technologies such as Node.js and modern JavaScript ecosystems
Solid understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and analytics infrastructure
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern data stack tools
Demonstrated ability to make architectural trade-offs and lead complex technical initiatives
Strong communication skills with experience collaborating across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bonus: exposure to AI/ML systems, experimentation platforms, growth analytics, or consumer-scale data environments
Bonus: familiarity with frontend technologies like React.js for internal tools or dashboards
