Job Overview
As a Backup and Cyber Recovery Engineer at NN, an international financial institution active in over ten countries, you will ensure that we remain resilient against cyber incidents. Based in The Hague, you will help safeguard our services for millions of customers worldwide.
Responsibilities- Design, implement and manage enterprise backup solutions and cyber recovery vaults
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure and compliance teams to align with DORA, NIS2 and NN policies
- Automate backup and recovery workflows using scripting and orchestration tools
- Run cyber recovery simulations and disaster recovery tests with IT and business units
- Provide 24/7 support, including ticketing and on‑call shifts
- Salary between €3,891 and €5,188 based on 36 hours per week, depending on your knowledge and experience
- 13th month and holiday allowance are paid with your monthly salary
- 27 vacation days for a 5‑day working week and three Diversity Days

- IT engineer with proven experience in enterprise backup or storage solutions
- Skill with Azure, AWS or VMware platforms
- Proficiency in scripting and automation
- Familiarity with cyber recovery methods, immutable backups and ransomware
- A calm demeanour, good analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot under pressure

Team & CultureYou will join our MIaaS department in The Hague, a Dev Ops organisation with several specialist teams. The newly established Backup & Cyber Dev Ops team is at the heart of NN’s cyber resilience efforts, where cooperation, ownership and a forward‑looking mindset are central.
