The Workplace Engineer operates within the User Experience capability, focusing on consulting, architecture design, building, migrating, and testing workplace services and solutions.

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of company offices, client sites, and your home, noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

As a Workplace Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, planning, and delivery of modern workplace solutions for our enterprise customers. You will work closely with business stakeholders, IT leaders, and technical teams to understand customers' vision, challenges, and requirements, and to propose innovative and scalable solutions that leverage Microsoft 365, Azure and AI capabilities. You will also oversee the implementation and adoption of the solutions, ensuring they align with customers’ business objectives, security policies and compliance standards.

  • Engage with enterprise customers to assess their current and desired state of modern workplace maturity, and identify opportunities and gaps for improvement.
  • Define and document the modern workplace strategy, roadmap and architecture for the customer, based on best practices and industry standards.
  • Design and architect modern workplace solutions that leverage Microsoft 365, W365, Azure and features such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, Exchange, Intune, Entra , Azure Sentinel, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team and the customer throughout the solution lifecycle, from pre‑sales to deployment and adoption.
  • Manage and mitigate technical risks and issues, ensuring the solutions meet customers’ expectations, requirements and SLAs; collaborate with Microsoft and partner resources to ensure quality and success of the solutions and conduct workshops, training sessions and presentations to educate and empower the customer and end users.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies and best practices in the modern workplace domain and share insights and feedback with the Microsoft and partner communities.

Your skills and experience
  • Experienced in IT consulting, solution architecture and project management, with a focus on modern workplace and cloud solutions and knowledge of designing and implementing Microsoft 365, Azure and AVD solutions for enterprise customers.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure features, services and architectures, and how they can be integrated and customised to meet customers’ needs and goals.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, ability to articulate complex technical concepts and solutions to various audiences from executives to end users; strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong customer focus and relationship management skills, ability to understand the customers’ business context, challenges and expectations, and to build trust and rapport.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience (desirable); certifications in Microsoft 365 and Azure highly desirable.
