Senior Solutions Architect

Position Overview

Wireless Solutions Architect / Consultant – 6‑month assignment (possible extension) with remote work from Regina, Saskatchewan (7.25hrs/day, Monday–Friday). Engagement model: professional services B2B.

Akkodis seeks an experienced wireless solutions architect to provide enterprise‑level architecture, design, and advisory services across a complex, multi‑site environment, leading current‑state assessments, future‑state design, and large‑scale transformation initiatives focused on performance, security, and scalability.

• Assess and document current wireless environments (SSID inventory, AP/controller landscape, traffic flows)
• Design and define future‑state enterprise Wi‑Fi architectures and standards
• Lead identity‑based access and segmentation strategies using Cisco ISE
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, architecture governance, and approvals
• Develop high‑quality architecture documentation and standards

• Current‑state assessment reports (SSID, controller/AP inventory, traffic flow mapping)
• Target‑state Wi‑Fi architecture and standards documentation
• Authentication and Layer2/Layer3 traffic flow diagrams
• RF design baseline parameters and SSID matrices

• Must have:
  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a wireless solutions architect/consultant in enterprise environments
• Proven experience with wireless controller and access point refresh/migration initiatives
• WLAN standardization and multi‑site rollouts
• Wi‑Fi performance optimization and capacity upgrades
• Security implementations (802.1X, WPA2/WPA3‑Enterprise, certificate‑based authentication)
• Guest Wi‑Fi design and segmentation
• Active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE – Wireless) certification (in good standing)
• Nice to have: exposure to automation tools for network configuration and monitoring
• Nice to have: knowledge of emerging Wi‑Fi standards (Wi‑Fi6/6E/7)
