Senior Azure Cloud Dev Ops Specialist
- Location: Ottawa, ON - Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days work from home)
- Contract Length: 12 Months (position can be extended or become permanent)
We at Raise are hiring a Senior Azure Cloud Dev Ops Specialist for one of our top clients.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for applications in the Microsoft Azure cloud.
- Oversee and manage application deployments, ensuring timely and reliable releases to development, testing, and production environments.
- Configure, operate, and optimize container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Open Shift.
- Collaborate with software developers and IT teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve build, deployment, and operational issues.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using infrastructure-as-code and scripting (with a strong emphasis on Python).
- Ensure cloud environments follow best practices in security, compliance, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Continuously monitor system performance and implement enhancements to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and knowledge sharing on Dev Ops, Azure cloud technologies, and automation tools within the team.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services and deployments.
- Proficient with CI/CD tools and best practices (Gitlab, SAST, DAST, Git, etc.).
- Hands‑on experience managing and troubleshooting Kubernetes or Open Shift clusters.
- Advanced scripting and automation skills, particularly in Python.
- Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (such as Terragrunt, Terraform, or Ansible).
- Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, and monitoring.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Dev Ops or cloud engineering roles, with significant Azure cloud exposure.
- Proven track record of building and supporting CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments.
- Experience in deploying and managing containerized applications at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent work experience.
- Microsoft Certified:
Azure Dev Ops Engineer Expert or related Azure certifications. - Certifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Open Shift, or Dev Ops tools are an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Microsoft Certified:
Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, or other advanced Azure certifications. - Certification in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Red Hat Open Shift, or similar container technologies.
- Experience deploying and configuring Palo Alto Next‑Generation Firewalls in Azure, implementing secure cloud architectures with automation, policy management, and integration into hybrid environments.
- Experience implementing and managing Dev Ops processes in regulated industries (e.g., defense, aerospace, transportation, or healthcare).
- Demonstrated success with large‑scale cloud migration or digital transformation projects.
- Familiarity with additional programming/scripting languages (e.g., Power Shell, Bash, Go).
- Experience integrating automated testing and security validation within CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Agile or SAFe development methodologies.
- Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Dev Ops or Cloud Engineering roles. - Azure Expertise:
Significant expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services and deployments. - CI/CD: A proven track record of building and supporting CI/CD pipelines within enterprise environments.
- Automation:
Strong scripting and automation skills, with a specific focus on Python.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Hands‑on coding experience with Terragrunt and Terraform. - Testing:
Experience integrating automated testing into the deployment lifecycle. - Process Management:
Experience implementing and managing comprehensive Dev Ops processes and best practices.
