Product Designer II – Wholesale Team
Lightspeed is looking for a Product Designer II to join our Wholesale team in Toronto or Montreal, Canada. The team designs the NuORDER experience that brands and buyers use, reshaping it to bring discovery, ordering, and brand relationships into a unified flow. You'll help bring it to life through iterative design and delivery. Candidates must be based in Ontario or Quebec and available to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
What you’ll be doing:- Shaping the Buyer
Experience:
Design across the experiences buyers use most, and help make every step from browse to purchase clearer and more cohesive. - Supporting the Brands:
Improve the tools brands rely on to merchandise their products, manage assortments, and grow stronger relationships with retailers. - Turning Data into Decisions:
Leverage unique insights from the Lightspeed Retail offering to help brands and buyers make confident calls about what to stock, reorder, and prioritize. - Problem Solving:
Own and lead full design cycles for features or a product area, comfortable reaching out for guidance when needed. Participate in design reviews and working sessions, helping the team develop effective and thoughtful solutions. Translate requirements and ideas into clear, usable product features. Proactively explore and integrate AI and emerging technologies to shape your approach. - Embedding Systems Thinking:
Have UX expertise and understanding of design systems, UI design, and how micro‑interactions can help users complete a task. Design holistic systems, flows and interfaces that are simple, elegant, and user‑friendly. Understand how to use design systems to ensure consistency across platforms and contribute to its improvement. - Driving User‑Centricity:
Use research and data insights to inform design decisions. Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to align on user needs, ensuring designs balance usability with business goals. - Collaboration:
Work closely with cross‑functional partners and contribute positively to team culture. Be open to feedback and eager to learn from peers and senior designers.
- At least 4 years of practical, in‑house product, UX/UI design experience. Applied experience with an e‑commerce or B2B facing brand, with multi‑sided marketplaces.
- Clear communication skills. You can explain design decisions and collaborate effectively with teammates and stakeholders.
- Solid visual design skills and attention to detail, with a drive to continuously refine craft.
- A curiosity to learn and adopt new tools, including how AI can enhance the user experience and improve your design process.
- Applied experience working across all digital and physical manifestations of what we design – from the responsive web to native applications to the next technological leap.
- An acute level of self‑awareness and deep empathy – for both the customer and your team’s goals.
- Understanding and ability to consider product strategy and vision. You don’t just care about “how it looks,” or “what we should design,” but “why are we designing this at all?”

CompensationAt Lightspeed, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your skill set, qualifications, experience, and market data. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We reasonably expect the total compensation for this position to be in the range of $85,000 - $100,000 CAD. Lightspeed also provides a variety of employee benefits including medical, dental, wellness, life and disability insurance, RRSP plan and match, paid parental leave top‑up, and paid time off.
