Overview
Sr. User Experience Researcher – define and execute user research programs across a broad set of experiences and modalities, embedded within a core product area to directly inform product strategy and design decisions.
Responsibilities- Determine and recommend the most efficient and effective user‑centered research approaches—qualitative and quantitative—to solve business needs and guide UX processes.
- Lead exploratory and generative research studies, including discovery research that frames the problem space, identifies user needs, and gathers evidence to define next steps.
- Plan, design, and execute tactical research initiatives such as usability testing and concept testing, using moderated and unmoderated methodologies (e.g., facilitated sessions, surveys, click tests).
- Monitor UX project execution, establishing and tracking relevant UX metrics and product scorecards.
- Develop foundational UX research artifacts such as user journeys, behavioral archetypes, and heuristic guidelines.
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to help drive product and design decisions.
- Work collaboratively with UX designers, content writers, product teams, development teams, and other stakeholders within an agile software development process.
- Support, partner with, and influence multi‑disciplinary teams—including leadership across product and other business areas—to execute UX projects.
- Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate and enhance research workflows and processes.
- Take initiative and drive projects from start to finish with a high degree of independence.
- Take ownership of self‑development; stay current with emerging research techniques, tools, and AI‑driven practices.
- Mentor and assist UX Researchers as needed.
- Advocate a user‑centered, evidence‑based approach to product development while balancing business needs.
- A master’s degree or higher in a field such as Cognitive Psychology, Human‑Computer Interaction, User Experience, Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Interactive Design, or a related discipline—or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of UX research experience (or a bachelor’s degree with strong demonstrated industry experience).
- Experience in UX research on B2B SaaS solutions.
- Experience conducting both exploratory/generative and tactical research, including usability testing and concept testing across moderated and unmoderated formats.
- Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research throughout an agile development process.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with comfort planning, prioritizing, conducting, analyzing, and communicating research across a variety of contexts and stakeholder levels—including senior leadership.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build compelling research narratives and communicate insights effectively to cross‑functional teams and leadership.
- A curious, hands‑on approach to leveraging generative AI tools to accelerate UX research workflows (applied experience is a strong asset).
- The ability to operate independently with minimal administrative overhead, while remaining communicative and collaborative with your manager and key stakeholders.
- Experience with data analytics to inform UX research direction (nice‑to‑have).
- A portfolio is a nice‑to‑have; all candidates will be expected to walk through at least one strong past project during the interview process.
