Senior Learning & Development Consultant - Agile Trainer

THIS IS A 9 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT ROLE

Do you want to make change happen by joining a team that never stands still?

Do you enjoy working as part of an enthusiastic, passionate, and collaborative team?

Softcat's Learning & Development team sits within the wider People & Property function and plays a key role in fostering a learning culture that enables employees to reach their potential and drive high performance.

This is an exciting time to join, as the business begins a phased shift towards more Agile ways of working through its Tech Fwd programme, with this interim role supporting early awareness, alignment and readiness across IT and the wider organisation.

Success. The Softcat Way.

Building practical Agile capability for real business impact. This is a senior interim L&D consultancy role focused on Agile education and early adoption. As a Senior L&D Consultant, you will design and deliver practical, accessible Agile learning that builds a shared understanding of its purpose and supports value‑driven delivery at Softcat.

You will work collaboratively with L&D, Tech Adoption and business stakeholders to create relevant, reusable learning while operating autonomously and focusing on areas of greatest organisational impact.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and creating Agile training tailored to Softcat's culture, providing clear, practical introductions to Agile principles and value‑driven delivery.
  • Creating accessible, engaging learning experiences for both technical and non‑technical audiences, using appropriate delivery methods.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across IT and the wider business to understand needs, position Agile learning effectively, and manage expectations.
  • Facilitating inclusive sessions that encourage discussion, adapt to audience needs, and confidently handle challenge or ambiguity.
  • Developing reusable learning materials and supporting knowledge transfer to ensure sustainability beyond the interim role.
  • Contributing to Agile adoption during a period of organisational change, taking a pragmatic, outcomes‑focused approach and influencing without authority.
Qualifications
  • Experience delivering Agile training or education in a business or technology setting, or a strong willingness to build this capability.
  • Ability to explain Agile concepts in a clear, practical and accessible way for a range of audiences.
  • Confidence in engaging and supporting both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, with strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Comfortable working in evolving environments, managing ambiguity and adapting to changing needs.
  • Collaborative and culturally aware approach, with a focus on outcomes and openness to different perspectives.

We also acknowledge that the confidence gap and imposter syndrome are a real thing and can get in the way of us meeting fantastic talent, so please don't hesitate to apply – we would love to hear from you!

Flexible Working
  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
  • Working flexible hours - flexing the times you start and finish during the day.
  • Flexibility around school pick up and drop offs.

Working with us. Wherever you work, we want you to experience the freedom and autonomy to realise your potential. You will feel supported by a team that celebrates individuality, encourages different perspectives, and embraces every background.

If you have a disability or neurodiversity, we can provide support or adjustments that you may need throughout our recruitment process or any mitigating circumstance you wish for us to consider. Any information you share on your application will be treated in confidence.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package and will provide you with opportunities to grow, flourish, and achieve great things. Our benefits include:

  • Share incentive plan
  • Life Assurance
  • Holiday
  • Trips
  • Vouchers
  • Partner/family Benefits
