The Cloud & Dedicated Hosting Engineer manages and optimizes cloud and dedicated financial operations, bridging the gap between engineering, finance, and business teams to maximize cloud and dedicated value. They analyze usage patterns, implement cost‑saving strategies (like reserved instances or rightsizing), automate efficiency, and build forecasting models to ensure financial accountability for cloud and dedicated spending.
- Bachelor's Degree, or Equivalent
- 5+ Years Cloud & Dedicated Hosting “Project & Product Management” (Agile Scrum)
- Cloud Proficiency:
Deep knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) pricing models and services. - Technical
Skills:
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation) and data analysis (SQL, Python). - Financial Acumen:
Understanding of budgeting, unit economics, and cost allocation. - Communication:
Ability to explain technical cost drivers to non‑technical partners. - Highly Experienced with “SaaS Modular Cloud & Dedicated Hosting Platforms”
- Highly Experienced with “Quality Control Workmanship Analyzation” (Test & Verify)
- Strong Network of Operational Resources
Roles & Responsibilities
- Cost Optimization:
Analyze usage patterns to reduce waste, right‑size resources, and implement Fin Ops best practices (e.g., using spot instances). - Visibility & Reporting:
Create dashboards (Web Pros.cloud, Grafana Labs & Opt Scale) and reports to track spending, showing cost trends and anomalies to stakeholders. - Budgeting & Forecasting:
Partner with Finance to develop accurate cloud spend budgets, forecasts, and charge‑back/show‑back models. - Automation:
Develop scripts to automate cost‑saving actions, such as shutting down idle, non‑production environments. - Collaboration &
Education:
Evangelize a cost‑conscious culture, advising engineering teams on cost‑efficient architecture.
- Hours of Availability:
Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm EST (New York). - 60‑Day Probation Period:
Part‑Time (Hours Dependent on Probation Projects)
- Hourly Rate: $50.00 per Hour (USD)
- Compensation Negotiable Based on Experience
