Position: WorkSafeBC Security Engineer I Application Role

In this pivotal role, you will leverage your application security experience to enhance secure coding standards and integrate security assessment tools. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams will empower you to perform threat modeling and conduct penetration testing on web applications. By engaging in security tooling and review processes, you’ll drive continuous improvement and champion security within the organization’s community of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and uphold secure coding standards and security practices

• Implement and assess security testing tools like Sonar Qube

• Perform design reviews to mitigate security threats

• Conduct thorough penetration testing on applications

• Implement cloud security policies across platforms like Azure
Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

• At least 4 years of experience in cybersecurity and secure development

• Familiar with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, OWASP

• Ability to communicate effectively with teams

• Must be adaptable in Agile and Dev Ops settings
