Overview
Thales is seeking a junior-level candidate to support the ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) team. You will conduct, coordinate and assist in the preparation, revision and support of all products in the AOPS and JSS Technical Data Packages to ensure the data is accurate, complete and consistent across the support solution.
Regulatory/EligibilityThis position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List and/or the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access. This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, the Canadian Industrial Security Program, the US ITAR and/or the US EAR, including eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and able to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance.
KeyAreas of Responsibility
- Prepare, author, and/or revise technical documents (CFTO/LSAR/EFT/Misc. Reports) as necessary to support improvements to the technical data package and support solution.
- Review products of the technical data package in collaboration with engineers to ensure that the technical data reflects the latest system/equipment configuration of the ships, is complete, accurate and consistent across the support solution.
- Coordinate the activities related to the verification of the final technical data package, track progress and report status.
- Analyze Document Change Requests and liaise with technical contributors as appropriate to address the request and prepare or coordinate the development of the Change Package to identify the technical data package changes and revisions.
- Implement the technical data package changes and revisions or collaborate with procurement personnel to contract out the implementation of the changes and revisions.
- Review and provide concurrence to changes and revisions of the technical data package ensuring the products are technically accurate, logically presented, consistent with the appropriate national defense specifications, formats, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate the development of new technical data in support of engineering changes, technical bulletins, logistics support analysis or problem reports.
- Coordinate the translation of the technical data and the acquisition of associated Translation Accuracy Checks for all translated material or of translation waivers if applicable.
- Support, coordinate and control the indexing of technical documentation in accordance with minimum requirements.
- Possess a minimum of a 2-year technical program diploma offered by a recognized technical institute or eligibility for registration as a technician by a recognized provincial, state, or federal (national) licensing body in a technical field related to any naval discipline including mechanical, electrical, electronic (including software), naval architecture, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience with the production, revision, publishing and/or coordination of technical data package products including technical publications, systems and equipment manuals, technical drawings and associated lists.
- Schedule:
40 hours per week. - Physical Environment:
Hybrid position - a mix of working from home and onsite (in office, at customer site or on board ships alongside in harbour). - Travel:
Occasional domestic travel may be required in support of the ships.
