Systems Engineer, Cybersecurity, IT Support
Leonardo UK is seeking a Graduate Platform Engineering Technician to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division team. This role is focused on supporting the delivery, maintenance and continual improvement of platform and systems engineering solutions across defence, government and public sector customers.
Responsibilities- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and patching of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Support platform health checks, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain and update technical documentation and work instructions.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver small technical projects and service improvements.
- Contribute to change control and configuration management processes.
- Provide technical support to field teams and end-users under guidance from more experienced colleagues.
- All of our roles require (a) a minimum of a 2:2 Bachelors/Integrated Master’s degree, or (b) a higher degree, such as a MSc or PhD in a STEM related subject including Cyber Security.
- A foundation in IT systems, such as Windows operating systems and basic networking.
- An enthusiasm for learning and applying new technologies.
- A methodical approach to problem‑solving with attention to process and detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow established engineering procedures.

- Understanding of cyber security concepts
- Awareness of ITIL or service management practices
- Hands‑on experience with patching tools, antivirus, or endpoint security.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of scripting or automation basics (Power Shell, Bash, Python).
- ITIL Foundation certification.
