About The Role
We are currently recruiting for an MS SQL Developer on behalf of a prominent global bank. This is a contract position designed to support the bank's data infrastructure and enhance database performance. As an MS SQL Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust database solutions that underpin critical business operations. Your role will involve optimizing database performance, ensuring data integrity, and scaling solutions to meet evolving business needs.
You will collaborate closely with data teams, application developers, and business stakeholders to deliver efficient and reliable database systems that support the bank’s strategic objectives.
- Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server in a large-scale enterprise environment, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
- Advanced proficiency in T-SQL programming, with the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures.
- Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining MS SQL Server databases.
- Expertise in query optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting database issues.
- Knowledge of database design principles, normalization, indexing strategies, and data modeling techniques.
- Experience working with ETL tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or equivalent.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Designing and developing scalable, high‑performance database solutions to support business applications and reporting needs.
- Maintaining existing SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and data integrity.
- Implementing and managing ETL processes using SSIS or similar tools to facilitate data integration and migration.
- Optimizing queries and indexing strategies to improve database response times and overall system efficiency.
- Monitoring database health, conducting performance tuning, and troubleshooting issues proactively.
- Collaborating with application developers and data analysts to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Documenting database architectures, processes, and procedures for compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Participating in code reviews and adhering to best practices for database development and security standards.
This role offers an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. The package includes a competitive daily rate of up to £550 under an umbrella company. The position is based in London with a hybrid working model, providing flexibility to balance remote work with on‑site collaboration.
