Your work at Leonardo UK will see you take the lead in solving customer problems in an agile, innovative and team‑centric manner. The role may involve a blended hybrid working model, with a mixture of working from home and working on site at one of our Leonardo offices to ensure close collaboration with the wider team and with our customers.
What you will do as a Graduate Platform Engineering Technician- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and patching of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Support platform health checks, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain and update technical documentation and work instructions.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver small technical projects and service improvements.
- Contribute to change control and configuration management processes.
- Provide technical support to field teams and end‑users under guidance from more experienced colleagues.
- A minimum of a 2‑2 Bachelors/Integrated Master’s degree, or a higher degree, such as an MSc or PhD in a STEM‑related subject including Cyber Security.
- A foundation in IT systems – such as Windows operating systems and basic networking.
- An enthusiasm for learning and applying new technologies.
- A methodical approach to problem‑solving with attention to process and detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow established engineering procedures.
- Windows/Linux operating systems
- Basic networking principles
- Understanding of cyber security concepts
- Awareness of ITIL or service management practices
- Hands‑on experience with patching tools, antivirus, or endpoint security
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of scripting or automation basics (Power Shell, Bash, Python)
- ITIL Foundation certification
This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, potentially requiring eligibility for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
LocationThis role can be based at one of our UK sites in Bristol, with hybrid/custom working options where appropriate.
