We have 1.0 FTE available and are seeking two applicants to each work either 0.6 or 0.4 FTE.
We operate a hybrid working model at the University of Gloucestershire; however, this role has limited on-campus requirements but is not a fully remote position. Details of the hybrid working arrangement will be discussed and confirmed at the interview stage.
About the roleThe School of Business, Computing and Social Sciences, at the University of Gloucestershire is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Computer Science who can provide module leadership and teach on the recently launched Online MSc in Computer Science.
The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering online education at Masters Level and possess expertise in online module leadership. In addition, the candidate will have experience of supervising MSc Computer Science projects. The post-holder will primarily teach on our portfolio of online MSc Computer Science courses and contribute to any of these specialisations:
Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence.
The online MSc Computer Science is delivered on a carousel model via the Canvas VLE. The postholder will be expected to manage the VLE for their assigned modules, and to work within an academic structure that is specific to online delivery: there are 6 intakes of students each year, and the MSc is delivered all year round.
Responsibilities- Provide online module leadership for the Online MSc in Computer Science.
- Teach courses within the MSc portfolio and contributed specialisations.
- Manage the Virtual Learning Environment (Canvas VLE) for assigned modules.
- Supervise MSc Computer Science projects.
- Operate within a six-intake per year online delivery structure, ensuring year-round course delivery.
- Experience delivering online education at Masters level.
- Expertise in online module leadership.
- Experience supervising MSc projects in Computer Science.
