Division – Digital and Information Services Work Location – Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and Ontario. This role is eligible for a hybrid or remote work option in these provinces where we operate. Pay Range: $109,052 - $145,441 (Due to current market demands, a temporary market salary supplement is being offered in addition to base salary in the form of an annual lump sum payment based on 15% of range max with the payment split and paid twice per year based on eligibility guidelines)
Join our Platform Delivery team as an Application Architect
! As an Application Architect, you will operate at the intersection of technology and strategy - bringing clarity to complexity and direction to our development teams.
The Application Architect is our technical expert who ensures that custom-built solutions and SaaS or COTS integrations work well within our broader software environment and support SGI and SGI CANADA’s business needs. In this role, you will go beyond technical design – you will influence strategy, guide teams, and ensure our applications delivers impactful value and align with our corporate and business goals in a fast-changing, growing digital environment.
Wewant to hear from you if you have:
- Strong experience designing and evolving distributed event-driven application architectures.
- Knowledge of modern development practices, architecture patterns, and integration approaches.
- Experience with Guidewire or similar enterprise insurance platforms is considered an asset, particularly in environments involving complex integrations and modernization initiatives.
- Ability to communicate architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A strategic mindset with hands‑on problem‑solving capability.
- Curiosity and commitment to staying current with emerging technologies.
- Confidence leading discussions, influencing decisions, and guiding teams.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in complex environments.
The experience and skills for this position are typically gained through six years of directly related experience in distributed software systems architecture and four‑year degree in an Information Technology field of study.
