Your RoleAs a Content Designer, you will join the growing Digital Excellence community that shares knowledge and expertise. You will champion inclusive design practices throughout project life cycles, ensuring solutions are accessible to as many users as possible. The role offers opportunities to develop and grow, working with major public and private sector clients across multiple office locations, with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and build strong relationships with clients across projects, influencing and collaborating on content.
- Create and iterate accurate user‑centred content that meets user needs.
- Use analytics, user feedback and research to identify user needs and map user journeys.
- Make complex language and processes easy to understand.
- Bring new ideas and challenge the status quo.
- Advocate for user‑centred design, iterative and agile approaches.
- Strong understanding of user‑centred design principles and best practice.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary Agile teams to design and deliver user‑centred services.
- Experience designing content for diverse users, including accessibility and assisted digital needs.
- SC clearance or ability to qualify for SC clearance.
- Experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards and design principles.
- Experience with accessibility standards and legislation such as WCAG.
- Experience writing inclusive content in plain English.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in complex regulatory environments (e.g., healthcare or public sector).
- Consulting experience in private sector clients.
- Certifications in accessibility (CPACC, WAS, CPWA) or working towards similar credentials.
- Experience testing and auditing assistive technology such as JAWS, Dragon, Zoom Text, and accessibility features for Windows and macOS.
Experience in running training around Service Design or Design Thinking, managing and leading high‑performing teams, and using tools such as Miro, Mural, Teams, and PowerPoint.
