This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled team of data professionals working at the forefront of cloud technologies, data engineering, analytics, and AI.
The Role As a Principal Data Architect, you will play a key role in designing and delivering modern, scalable data platforms and architectures for enterprise clients. Working closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Architecture teams, you will lead the design of new cloud-native data solutions and support large-scale migrations from legacy environments. This position is suited to an experienced data professional who enjoys solving complex business challenges through technology and thrives in a client-facing consulting environment.
You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives, define data strategies, and deliver robust, high-performance architectures that support long-term growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities Design and deliver scalable cloud-based data platforms and analytics solutions. Define data architecture, governance, security, and best practices across client environments. Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineering teams. Design and optimise data models including 3NF, Data Vault, Star Schema, and OBT approaches. Partner with stakeholders to develop data strategies aligned to business objectives. Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
Drive the adoption of modern data technologies and cloud-native architectures. Support data platform migrations, modernisation initiatives, and digital transformation programmes. Skills & Experience Essential Significant experience designing and delivering enterprise data warehouse, lakehouse, or analytics platforms. Strong experience with technologies such as Big Query, Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience highly desirable Deep understanding of data architecture principles and scalable solution design.
Expertise in data modelling and performance optimisation. Experience implementing governance, security, privacy, and data quality controls within modern data platforms. Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and ideally Java. Key Benefits 25 days annual leave plus public holidays.
