Role2nd/3rd Line IT Infrastructure Engineer
DescriptionTo provide efficient and effective IT support across the business covering a wide range of IT systems and users.
- This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the company’s IT infrastructure and network as well as configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all server, client, and network hardware, software, and communications.
- You will be joining a small but growing infrastructure team and will have broad experience in hands‑on IT/Infrastructure support covering 2nd and 3rd line support.
- Working alongside the IT team to provide a range of support and duties to the business.
- Provide support for escalated incidents and service requests within the business and assist with all elements of IT Support.
- To configure, maintain and monitor core IT infrastructure for the business.
- Direct support for the internal development team.
- To assist in the implementation of new solutions and policies or processes within IT and the business.
- To follow and enforce existing IT policies.
- Ability to configure, maintain and support a range of Microsoft operating systems:
Windows 8.1, 10, 2012R2, 2016, 2019. - Ability to configure, maintain and support backup and DR solutions.
- Ability to configure, maintain and support Fortinet hardware.
- Ability to configure, maintain and support Web services (IIS).
- Ability to configure SQL services (MSSQL).
- Proven experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various network‑related protocols (IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, etc).
- Proven experience in working with an Active Directory environment.
- Good experience with virtualised environments, e.g. Hyper‑V.
- IT Security, patching, and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with SIEM systems.
- Power Shell experience.
- Carbon Black NGAV.
- Forti Gate.
- Azure.
- Info Sec background.
- Mimecast.
- Rubrik.
To fulfill this IT Support/Infrastructure role successfully you will need to hit the ground running and be able to step into the head of IT shoes on occasion as well as help in 1st line duties when needed.
You will receive an excellent salary of up to 45k + some excellent benefits including a 10% non‑contributory pension.
The role will be home-based with flexible working hours but you may be required to go into the office as and when needed.
