IT Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud – Cardiff
IT Infrastructure Microsoft Engineer with excellent experience in modern Microsoft enterprise infrastructure, including Entra , Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange Online, Intune, Group Policy, Active Directory, Enterprise Device Management and VMware vSphere is required by a leading company based in Cardiff.
The role will be 3 days in the office, and 2 days working from home, so you must be able to commute to the Cardiff office.
In this role, cloud, identity, endpoint management and Microsoft 365 technologies are a strong focus, centred on Microsoft enterprise infrastructure.
Skills and experienceStrong hands‑on infrastructure support knowledge in a Microsoft cloud infrastructure (Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Intune, Enterprise Device Management and VMware vSphere). Experience in Microsoft Server, excellent experience with Virtualisation (VMware vSphere), Intune & Modern Workplace technologies, supporting Azure cloud-based solutions. Some IT security experience would be a bonus.
ResponsibilitiesYou will work alongside skilled senior engineers to deliver service to users across the company. You will have a key role in infrastructure support, restore activities, security remediation, and maintaining technical documentation. The role includes:
- Design, implement, and manage the IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets current & future business needs.
- Administer and support Microsoft Server environments, ensuring reliability, availability, and optimal performance.
- Support cloud infrastructure, particularly within Azure, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
- Manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions, safeguarding data integrity and security.
- Implement, monitor, and enhance infrastructure security controls, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Perform regular system audits and produce reports to support informed strategic decisions.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to IT colleagues and end users.
Starting salary of £45,000‑£55,000, hybrid working, and benefits.
