Are you our new Lead Word Press Development Specialist?

At Sciential, we help leading biotech, medtech, and pharma companies grow through digital marketing. A key part of our work is building and optimizing websites that communicate complex science in a clear and engaging way. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Lead Web Development Specialist to help us design, develop, and maintain websites for our clients. This is an ideal role for someone with strong technical skills, a creative mindset, and an interest in working in the life sciences industry.

What does a typical day look like at Sciential?

It’s Monday morning at our Rotterdam office. After a quick coffee, you start by reviewing a client’s website performance and making small improvements to optimize loading speed. Next, you join a call with the design team to discuss a new biotech website concept and translate mockups into a responsive layout. Around lunch, you join your colleagues on the rooftop terrace before finalizing a landing page for an upcoming pharma campaign.

In the afternoon, you troubleshoot a Word Press plugin issue, add a new feature for a client’s site, and end the day with a short brainstorm on how to improve website security across projects. Some days are more about coding, others about design or problem‑solving, but every day you contribute to building world‑class digital experiences for life sciences companies.

• 3+ years of experience in Word Press development
• Experience with responsive design and modern frameworks
• Eye for detail, creativity, and technical precision
• Interest in life sciences is a strong advantage
• Ability to translate designs into functional websites
• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
• Proactive, structured, and a real team player

• Salary range: €3,000 – €3,500 gross per month
• 8% holiday allowance + 8% monthly pension allowance
• 36-hour workweek (every other Friday off)
• Four weeks per year remote working from abroad
• Hands‑on growth paths toward lead or consultancy roles
• Performance reviews every 6 months with potential 2–10% raises
