Remote Senior Data Engineer at MatchBox

Become a Senior Data Engineer/Architect with Match Box, fully remote in Canada. Lead the migration to AWS data lake architecture leveraging your expertise.

This contract role spans 4-5 months, ideal for applicants with at least 6 years in data engineering or cloud modernizations. You will drive the transition from an on-prem SQL Server warehouse to a next-gen AWS lakehouse, implementing advanced data pipelines and ensuring adherence to security policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop effective data pipelines with AWS DMS and Glue

• Implement data quality checks and alert mechanisms

• Transition existing SQL models to AWS frameworks

• Maintain compliance with data governance and IT security

• Assist in creating CI/CD systems for AWS deployment

Requirements:

• Computer science degree or similar experience

• Minimum 6 years in data engineering fields

• Expertise in SQL, Python, and dbt

• Hands-on experience with AWS tools like Cloud Formation

• Familiarity with integrating diverse APIs and data sources
