In this position, you will provide cybersecurity and technology risk advisory services, assess security architectures, develop security standards, and support the implementation of risk mitigation strategies across applications, infrastructure, cloud environments, and emerging technologies.
- Pay Rate: $125,000 - $175,000 per year
- Location: Ottawa, ON (Remote)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

- Provide cybersecurity and technology risk advisory services to support business and technology objectives.
- Assess current and target state architectures, including cloud and on-premises environments, to support secure, compliant, and risk-based technology delivery.
- Identify and assess security risks, vulnerabilities, and control gaps across applications, infrastructure, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.
- Develop and maintain security standards, policies, and control requirements aligned with cybersecurity frameworks and industry best practices.
- Define and promote secure design patterns, reference architectures, and reusable security artifacts across platforms and development lifecycles.
- Support secure configuration, governance, and compliance activities for cloud environments, applications, and Dev Sec Ops pipelines.
- Facilitate and support threat modelling activities across applications, platforms, and AI-enabled solutions to identify threats, attack vectors, and control weaknesses.
- Enhance application security and Dev Sec Ops practices, including secure software development lifecycle (SDLC), code scanning, and pipeline security controls.
- Contribute to vulnerability management activities, including identification, triage, prioritization, and remediation guidance across systems and applications.
- Provide guidance on technology risk, vulnerability management, and security testing activities, including SAST, DAST, container scanning, and dependency scanning.
- Support the integration of AI into security practices, including vulnerability discovery, risk prioritization, and security analysis, while assessing risks associated with AI adoption.
- Translate technical security risks into business impacts and provide clear, risk-based recommendations.
- Prepare executive-level documentation, reporting, and security artifacts for stakeholders, governance forums, and leadership teams.
- Support implementation planning, prioritization, and adoption of security controls and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide cybersecurity expertise, workshops, and knowledge transfer across development, platform, and business teams.
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must hold a valid Secret Level security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in information technology or cybersecurity.
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience as a Cyber Security Architect or senior security specialist within complex and regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience assessing current-state security posture and defining target-state security architectures.
- Experience designing and governing security controls, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, data protection, logging, and monitoring.
- Experience identifying security, risk, and compliance control gaps and recommending risk-based improvements.
- Experience developing security standards and reusable security architecture artifacts, including reference architectures, patterns, and building blocks.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and risk frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53/61/92, and ISO/IEC 27001/27002.
- Knowledge of enterprise and security architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and SABSA.
- Experience aligning security architectures with regulatory and supervisory expectations.
- Knowledge of third-party risk management practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, CISM, or AWS/Azure security certifications are considered an asset.
- Work on complex cybersecurity initiatives supporting secure technology delivery.
