Help drive strategic Operational Risk initiatives within the insurance industry by transforming business needs into innovative technology solutions. Collaborate on enterprise risk projects, support Agile delivery, analyze data, document business requirements, and contribute to solutions that strengthen risk management and business performance.
What is in it for you:

Responsibilities:
• Analyze and document business processes related to operational risk, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.

• Gather, elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements through collaboration with business stakeholders and technical teams.

• Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, process flows, and data mapping documentation.

• Apply relational data concepts to support source-to-target mapping and enterprise data lake initiatives.

• Perform SQL-based data analysis, exploratory analysis, and gap analysis to support solution design and reporting.

• Partner with Agile Scrum teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives and delivery timelines.

• Support risk-related system enhancements, including initiatives involving the Archer risk management platform.

• Act as a liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout project delivery.

• Adapt to evolving technologies while contributing to continuous process improvements.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.

• 2 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or in a related role.

• Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business requirements.

• Experience creating BRDs, functional specifications, process flows, and data mapping documentation.

• Strong proficiency with SQL and data analysis.

• Experience working with Microsoft Azure.

• Experience using Jira within Agile/Scrum environments.

• Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.

• Knowledge of enterprise data lake concepts and cloud-based data platforms.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Experience with RSA Archer or similar Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms is an asset.

• Familiarity with operational risk terminology, risk hierarchies, and risk management frameworks is an asset.

• Experience with Power BI or Tableau is an asset.

• Knowledge of Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure Cosmos DB is an asset.

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Basel or OSFI guidelines is an asset.

• Agile, Business Analysis, or Risk Management certifications are considered an asset.

• Strong English communication skills, with confidence interacting with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
