The role:

You will join the digital leadership and transformation team within Jisc’s FESNAT directorate, supporting thehigher and tertiary education sector as it faces increasing pressures and rising student expectations. This role places you at the centre of Jisc’s mission to help institutions respond with confidence, innovation, andlong-term sustainability.

Working with colleagues across the Digital Leadership and Transformation, Advice, AI, and FE Relationship Management teams, you will help design and deliver a programme that strengthens digital capability across the sector. This work will be co‑created with senior leaders, sector bodies, and partner organisations to ensure it meets member needs.

Your focus will be to develop, support, and deliver Jisc’s digital leadership and transformation agenda. This includes contributing to evidence informed research, pilots, and projects on digital leadership, digital transformation, student experience, and the use of technology in assessment and curriculum design. You will also provide expert input into consultancy scoping and quality assurance for related projects.

This rolewillinfluence sector‑wide change and help institutions harness digital infrastructure to remain competitive, inclusive, and resilient.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Identify, scope and lead projects, research pilots and thought leadership that can support higher education providers address challenges and opportunities relating to digital leadership and transformation.
  • Work closely Jisc members and experts from the UKtertiarysector and beyond to gather requirements to inform how Jisc can support the sector in rethinking curriculum and assessment design.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, professional associations, Jisc services and bodies in the UK and internationally and foster partnerships with these bodies, where these are to the advantage of Jisc and its funders,ownersand members.
  • Work with colleagues across Jisc to develop ideas, explore opportunities, ensure digital leadership and transformation related projects are joined up and co-ordinated.
  • Input into and deliver the strategic sectorobjectivesand key results (OKRs) for digital leadership transformation for tertiary education.
  • Contribute and plan events and webinars for HE members on digital leadership and transformation.
  • Contributeexpertiseto bespoke consultancy on digital leadership, transformation, curriculum and assessment design with scoping and development of proposals and quality assurance of projects.
What we are looking for:
  • Recent demonstrable experience in leading and implementing digital transformation in higher education.
  • Experience of leading and implementing assessment and curriculum change in higher education.
  • Proven ability to deliver tailored solutions that meet the diverse needs and circumstances of both groups and individuals.
  • Track recordof leading change and improvement initiatives, including project delivery within the higher‑education sector.
  • Experience of working at a national level on digital transformation and change programmes.
