Senior Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer at Alfen, you are the bridge between technology and language. You develop and manage technical documentation such as installation manuals, user instructions, and product specifications for energy storage systems and smart grids

You’ll be part of our multidisciplinary Energy Storage Systems R&D team and work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and structure crucial information to create product documentation. Within the Technical Writers team, you’ll be supported by an enthusiastic Team Lead. You’ll write in English and actively contribute to the consistency and quality of our documentation.

• Create well-structured documents in our CMS that describe technical processes, products, or systems.
• Design accurate and clear technical illustrations and diagrams to support documentation and communication.
• Make technical content understandable for various audiences, such as internal teams or external customers.
• Keep documentation up to date and ensure changes are correctly implemented.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary project teams and meetings.
• Proactively participate in the continual improvement of the design and consistency of documentation.

You are analytical, linguistically skilled, and have an affinity for technology. You bring the following skills and knowledge:

• Bachelor or Master level education in a technical field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a project-based engineering environment.
• Experience working in a CMS and with DITA XML using an XML editor.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Familiarity with Simplified Technical English (STE).
• Knowledge of 3D illustration software (such as Creo Illustrate) is a plus.
• A proactive and independent attitude.
