On the 1 August 2026, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent formed a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South-East (LASE) University Group.
Should you join us, you will be employed by LASE but will work as part of the University of Greenwich academic division, contributing to its distinct strengths, community and identity while also being part of a wider group that brings together the scale, resilience and shared ambition of both universities.
Through LASE we aim to deliver outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful regional and global impact.
About the Job
As a Strategic Planning Analyst you will be joining the University’s Strategic Planning, Insight & Improvement Directorate with the goal to achieve better decision-making across the institution from the analysis, advice and insight we provide, to the trusted relationships we build with stakeholders and the data quality, governance and infrastructure that underpins it.
Now is a great time to join the Directorate as we look to deliver an exciting Data & Reporting Transformation Project, moving to a Microsoft Fabric environment. The Directorate is a supportive team who have a range of skills and work together to develop these, and within the Microsoft Fabric environment the role holder would have the opportunity to deepen and develop skills in Power BI, SQL, Python and Microsoft Fabric itself.
The university is at the early stages of this data migration and current data analytics predominantly make use of Business Objects (the university’s BI tool) and MS Excel – and it is with these tools the role holder will first develop their position in the team.
We recognise that skills in one data analytics tool carry across to others, but the must haves to be successful in the role are advanced MS Excel and prior experience of building reports in at least one professional BI tool (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, QLik etc).
We are a diverse and inclusive team of dedicated professionals who are committed and passionate about what we do. Our main office is at the Greenwich Campus with very occasional travel to Avery Hill and Medway campuses required. We have actively embraced hybrid working with our team splitting their time between 2 days per week in the office and the remainder remote working.

- Perform in-depth analysis to identify trends and patterns across a variety of datasets relevant to the number of students at the university.
- Work on forecasts of how many students the university will have in the future in order to inform strategic and investment decisions.
- Build effective working relationships with colleagues across the institution, but in particular Marketing and External Relations, senior management of academic faculties and the Financial Planning and Analysis team.
- Support the Directorate’s university-wide communities of practice (such as a data champions network) to improve organisational data and analysis capability.
- Provide support to the implementation of data transformation projects and any such activities linked to the implementation of any data strategy.
- Please see the Job Description for more details.
What We’re Looking For:
- Significant experience in data analysis and the use of data processing or visualisation tools, (e.g.MS Excel, Microsoft Fabric environment, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Python or similar applications/software).
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with colleagues from across the institution and managing senior stakeholders.
- Capability to identify and address strategic challenges and business problems using data-driven approaches.
