Full Description
Data Eminence  is seeking an entry-level Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our database systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and performant.
You will support the design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of database solutions that underpin our company's operations. You'll collaborate with developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and maintain efficient database environments.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining database systems
Monitoring database health, performance, and capacity
Implementing backup and recovery procedures
Writing and optimizing SQL queries
Troubleshooting database errors and performance issues
Managing database users and access permissions
Following database security best practices
Monitoring database availability and resource usage
Supporting database upgrades and migrations
Documenting database schemas and procedures
Assisting with capacity planning and performance optimization
We believe in learning by doing. You'll gain hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server, along with cloud database services such as AWS RDS and Azure SQL.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
0-2 years of experience in database administration or a relevant internship
Strong SQL skills
Good understanding of relational database concepts
Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
Basic knowledge of database backup and recovery
Familiarity with Linux/Unix commands is a plus
Exposure to cloud database services is beneficial
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
