About Us

NL Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for delivering health and community services to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador across five geographical areas. Our Digital Health team supports the province's Epic Health Information System, working to ensure clinicians and staff across the province have reliable, secure access to the tools they need to deliver care.

About the Role

We are currently looking to hire permanent full-time Bridges Analyst position(s) to work in Digital Health. Reporting to Manager, Digital Health Application Development, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Serve as the primary contact for triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues on assigned Epic Bridges interfaces.
  • Manage the full interface lifecycle: analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live, and ongoing support.
  • Work with application teams, subject matter experts, and third-party experts to determine business needs and configure interfaces.
  • Work with interface engine developers to build data-translation routines supporting HIS and external systems' data needs.
  • Ensure change management processes are followed for all production interface changes, including Change Advisory Board submissions.
  • Coordinate testing, build, cutover planning, and go-live activities with vendors and subject matter experts.
  • Create and maintain functional documentation and technical designs for assigned interfaces.
  • Provide training and user guides to application teams on interface behaviour and troubleshooting.
About You

Your education and experience include:

  • Graduation from a recognized university with a Computer Science degree, or a bachelor's degree supplemented by a recognized graduate diploma in Information Technology (minimum 1 year), or a 3-year Information Technology diploma from a recognized technical college is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years' progressively responsible experience within the last seven years working in enterprise system development, including HIS experience in an interface analyst capacity, is required.
  • Willingness to acquire Epic certification; prerequisites, participate in Epic training/education sessions, complete self-assessments and successfully challenge the certification exam is required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of industry interconnectivity standards such as HL7, FHIR, and API integration.
  • Advanced analytical and programming skills across multiple technologies.
  • Ability to coordinate activities involving multiple players — vendors, subject matter experts, interface engine developers, and end users.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort working under time pressure during interface outages or go-live-adjacent cutovers.
It would be an asset if you have:
  • Epic Bridges certification.
  • Knowledge of Corepoint integration engine, Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing technical upgrading in interface engine and integration technologies.

Demonstrated equivalencies may be considered.

Other Information
  • Meaningful work supporting health care across Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Medical and dental benefits.
  • A defined benefit pension plan.
  • Flexible work arrangements (flex time; compressed; remote/hybrid, where applicable).
  • A paid leave program.
  • An Employee and Family Assistance Program.
  • Employee recognition programs and ongoing learning opportunities.
  • An innovative, energetic, and forward-thinking workplace culture.

* A valid passport and willingness to travel internationally is a requirement.

We thank all candidates for their interest; however, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.

Any offer of employment will be conditional upon completion of required background checks, including acceptable professional reference checks, provision of a satisfactory certificate of conduct, confirmation of educational credentials, and validation of legal entitlement to work in Canada, if applicable.
