Are you a hands‑on cloud and Dev Ops engineer who just wants to get on with the job? We're working with a fast‑scaling compliance technology business looking for a Senior Dev Ops Engineer who can pick up complex platform work and run with it, no hand‑holding required.

About the Company

Our client sits at the centre of how the world's biggest regulated financial firms manage risk. Their platform captures and supervises digital communications across email, MS Teams, Whats App, iMessage and more, giving compliance teams the confidence to say yes to new channels and new ways of working, without losing sight of what matters.

Following a recent merger, the business now brings together content compliance, distribution and communications supervision into a single, Connected platform, governing the entire regulated communication lifecycle end to end. The combined business works with 17 of the top 20 global asset managers and supports more than 1,550 regulated firms worldwide, with AI at the heart of how it surfaces risk and cuts down manual review time.

Backed by significant investment and growing fast, particularly across the US, this is a pivotal moment for the engineering team, and a genuinely exciting time to join.

The Role

This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role. You'll be trusted to take ownership of production platform work and infrastructure builds with real autonomy, working alongside a Lead Dev Ops Engineer and the wider platform team, but without needing detailed direction on how to get things done.

If you're the kind of engineer who sees a problem, understands the priorities, and just gets on with solving it, this is built for you.

What You'll Do

  • Take ownership of day‑to‑day production platform reliability, focusing on web crawl and message processing systems
  • Build and maintain monitoring and observability tooling using Grafana, Sentry, Prometheus, Cloud Watch and Pager Duty
  • Manage Linux‑based systems (Amazon Linux 2023) and keep them running smoothly
  • Work hands‑on across core AWS services:
Lambda, ECS Fargate, SQS, SNS, Aurora (PostgreSQL & MySQL) and S3
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Own and improve CI/CD workflows using Git Hub Actions
  • Partner with software engineering teams to embed good Dev Ops practice into their day‑to‑day workflows
  • Address developer experience issues and help resolve security concerns as they come up
  • Manage secrets securely across CI/CD pipelines

What You'll Bring

  • Solid, proven experience as a Dev Ops or Platform Engineer, ideally within a scaling SaaS environment
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Experience with CI/CD workflows, ideally Git Hub Actions
  • A genuinely autonomous working style: comfortable prioritising your own workload and putting it into action
  • A collaborative approach to working alongside software engineering teams
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and a pragmatic, get‑it‑done attitude

Why Join

  • A hands‑on role with real autonomy and trust from day one
  • Work at the centre of a newly combined platform serving some of the biggest names in global financial services
  • Backed by significant investment and scaling fast, particularly in the US
  • Flexible hybrid working from Manchester, with the option to work from anywhere in the UK
  • Join a growing platform team at a genuinely pivotal point in the company's growth

The package

  • £90,000 - £110,000 (some wiggle room for the right person)
  • Share options
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off
  • Vitality health insurance + cash plan
  • Enhanced pension + life insurance (4x salary)
  • Latest Mac Book Pro + equipment budget
  • Flexible hybrid working from Manchester, 2-4 office days a month, open to candidates from across the UK
