About The Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join our Data, Technology and Transformation team. This is a great opportunity to start or develop a career in IT, gaining practical experience across technical support, systems administration and digital services.

Working as part of the IT Team, you will help provide day-to-day IT support across the organisation, acting as a first point of contact for incidents and service requests. You will support colleagues with hardware, software, Microsoft 365, mobile devices, printing and general IT queries, while helping to log and update support tickets accurately.

You will gain experience in 1st and 2nd line support, Microsoft 365 administration, software systems, onsite infrastructure, networking, cyber security controls and supplier-supported services.

The role will also involve setting up, configuring and supporting laptops, desktops, mobile phones, printers and other IT equipment, as well as supporting new starter, mover and leaver processes, maintaining IT asset records and helping manage user access.

You will support the maintenance and development of key software systems, assisting with updates, configuration, testing, documentation and issue resolution, while working closely with colleagues, our managed service provider, training providers and other third-party suppliers.

About you

We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, enjoys solving problems and is confident using computers, Microsoft applications and everyday IT equipment.

You will have good communication skills and be able to explain information clearly to colleagues with different levels of technical knowledge. You will also be organised, accurate and able to follow processes, guidance and instructions carefully.

You will understand the importance of confidentiality, data protection and handling information appropriately, and be willing to work as part of a team while developing your skills through practical experience.

Previous experience in customer service, technical support or an IT-related environment would be helpful, along with basic troubleshooting skills and experience using Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint and One Drive.

Some travel to schemes or satellite offices may be required.
