Linux Engineer- Network & Firewall

Role Description  This full-time Linux Engineer - Firewall role is based in Bengaluru/Chennai in a hybrid work model, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility. The engineer will configure, monitor, and optimize firewall policies and network security controls, ensuring availability, performance, and compliance with security standards.
Qualifications
10+ Years of experience in Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure.
Administer and troubleshoot Linux servers across production environments.
Develop, manage, and optimize nftables firewall rules and policies.
Migrate and troubleshoot firewall configurations from iptables to nftables.
Configure stateful packet filtering, NAT, port forwarding, connection tracking, and logging.
Troubleshoot complex network connectivity and firewall-related issues.
Analyze network traffic using tools such as tcpdump, ss, ip, and related Linux networking utilities.
Implement firewall security policies based on application, network, and security requirements.
Automate Linux administration and firewall configuration using Shell/Python/Ansible.
Monitor system performance, network traffic, firewall events, and security logs.
Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis for infrastructure and network issues.
Harden Linux systems in accordance with security and compliance requirements.
Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
