Information Security Compliance Officer; Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Information Security Compliance Officer to join their fully remote team. This critical role ensures that the organization adheres to all relevant cybersecurity regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing compliance programs, conducting audits, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's information security compliance program.
• Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with regulations like POPIA, GDPR, and industry standards.
• Manage external audits and assessments, coordinating with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
• Identify compliance gaps and develop remediation plans to address them.
• Stay up-to-date with evolving legal and regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security.
• Develop and deliver compliance training to employees.

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security compliance, risk management, or auditing.
• In-depth knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., POPIA, GDPR, CCPA) and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Experience conducting risk assessments and developing remediation strategies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Professional certifications such as CIPP, CISA, or CRISC are highly advantageous.
